Hi, I just found this website. These guys have a terrible customer service. Their technicians are very poorly trained, had a similar problem.

Sea Ray boats are made of very poor quality. Last year they discontinued all boats over 40 feet long. Its consequence of their poor reputation and service.

Hall Marine of MarineMax in Greenville is one of the worst boat dealers I have ever dealt with.

Very poor management and follow through and their commitment at the time of sale.

I purchased a 2017 Sea Ray sdx from them and the speedometer has not worked from day one. After numerous calls emails and texts that are documented the general manager told my salesman that they were not going to work on my boat. After calling Sea Ray and telling them with my experience they said the dealer has the right to refuse working on any boat they are an independent dealership. The you would think there would be some kind of contract between Sea Ray and MarineMax that would force them to repair a boat that they sold.

The first one I bought from MarineMax at Hall Marine they sold me a two year warranty on a used MerCruiser. When I sold that boat and try to get a refund on my warranty the MarineMax people told me there would be no refund on it.
I’m the kind of guy that follows up to make sure I’m getting what I’m supposed to get so I called Mercruiser and come to find out there was never a warranty put on that boat by MarineMax.

The sites at MarineMax puts up makes it sound like they’re the greatest thing since sliced bread in the boat industry. I think if we all get together we could put a lawsuit together that could get them to be a little more trustworthy and honest with people.

I will never buy another boat from these people and I have that written on my boat that goes to the lake every week.

I wouldn’t even KNOW where to begin. You are absolutely correct about MarineMax. I bought on of their Galeon Boats. It was 18 months old and still under “warranty”. The MarineMax warrant is an “out of sight” warranty. Once it is out of their sight it is out of warranty.

My 18 month old Italian-made Condaria chiller unit died. BOTH compressors! It took 3 months to get another one from Italy. The dealer still has not installed it after having it in his possession for more than a month. MarineMax? NO help. They don’t give a shit!

My purchase experience was so bad, the sales rep quite MarineMax because of the shady experience.

Just so you know….the nickname within the industry for MarineMax is “MickeyMax” (Mickey Mouse).

If there are lawyers reading these complaints I’m agreeable to a class action suit. Make me your plaintiff.

I was just searching how I can voice my concerns with this company and found this site, my experience is marine max vacations. their vacations is even worse, they sell you an idea that is not true, they sell you a dream vacation and when you get to the BVI they hand you over to another company with local staff including an unsafe captain and unsafe practices. many other companies in the bvi to choose from, i would high recommend you look somewhere else for you dream bvi dream vacation. I have so many examples of what went wrong if anyone is interested.

Thank you for this information I currently looking for a boat but now I won’t be using MarineMax nor buying a Sea Ray.

These guys are dedicated to making a profit by rpping their customers. I bought a Searay 210, same issues. They are a nightmare with the warranty, fighting over a year over it. They wont even care if we soeak bad about their products and services, just continue carrying it on. They conspire woth Brunswick to precent claims going through.

I made the mistake of purchasing a boat from these clowns and then brokering through them because i had nothing but issues with it. These assholes gave the buyer my contact information to harass me saying the sale was between buyer and seller, they were just the broker. The General Manager Aaron Kramer would make a great village idiot and the lazy ass salesman Daniel Deaibes is why Marinemax has a horrible reputation. Going to purchase a new Grady but not through this fruit stand!

I had a similar situation, how can we start a class action law suite against them and stop them from continuing taking advantage of customers? I purchased a Searay 270 and the head door closer issue, and it took 8 repairs and 4 months to repair MarineMax or Searay care about customer service.

Wow – This is powerful stuff. Thank you all for sharing. I am shopping for a boat. I cannot afford a new Sea Ray but now I am thinking I want to steer clear of the used ones as well.

    Thanks again

Marine Max lake Hopatcong, NJ is a total scam ripoff company. I purchased a boat from them and they charged for services that they did not perform. specifically, they charged $850 for cleaning and the boat was totally filthy.

They charged $2600 for re-commisioning a 24 Ft Boat for the season, and they forgot to install the drain plug. they left the key turned on and drained the batteries. I had to buy and install 2 new batteries.

Then I disputed the credit card charge, and I won the case. A year later I made the mistake of buying another boat from them. I Paid cash in May 2019. It is now August and they are now telling me that they cannot provide the Boat title to me unless I pay the disputed invoice to them.

I wish I saw this website before making a purchase from MarineMax Pensacola. In June, I bought a 2008 Grady-White with Twin 350 Yamahas. The outboards were advertise to have 604 hours. Two weeks ago my Tachometer on the starboard engine stopped reading RPMs and other data. I called MarineMax St. Pete to help me troubleshoot the problem. They quickly track the issue to the ECU and told me the ECUs are not the original. I was immediately concerned about the accuracy of the engine hours represented and was told not to worry because the engine hours are track on a different component within the engine. This didn’t sound right so I called Yamaha to confirm. Yamaha was able to look up my serial numbers and confirmed hours are in fact logged in the ECUs and the original ECUs had 1164 hours. MarineMax Pensacola knowingly misrepresented this information and marketed the boat with 604 hours. In reality they actually sold me a boat with 1768 hours (1164 hrs on original ECUs +604 on the current ECUs).
